- President Donald Trump is scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly at 9:45 am ET (2:45 pm BST) to defend his foreign policy and aggressive global posture amid the ongoing war with Iran.
- During the summit, U.S. officials plan to sign an agreement with Denmark and Greenland to expand the United States' military footprint in Greenland.
- Trump will hold bilateral discussions with key international leaders later in the day, including British Prime Minister Andy Burnham, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, and Venezuelan acting president Delcy Rodríguez.
- The UN summit comes as Trump’s ongoing military conflict with Iran continues to destabilize global energy markets, keeping crude prices near $100 per barrel as mediators seek a diplomatic resolution.
- Trump also recently expressed frustration over continued energy infrastructure strikes in the Russia-Ukraine conflict despite his efforts to negotiate an agreement.
