The first of two Eurovision Song Contest 2023 semi-finals will take place on Tuesday, May 9. The first semi-final will see 15 acts compete for 10 places in the grand final on Saturday, May 13.
Hosted by Alesha Dixon, Hannah Waddingham, and Ukrainian singer Julia Sanina, the semi-finals will take place in Liverpool, the city is this year's Eurovision host on behalf of 2022 winners Ukraine, and will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer so viewers can tune in at home.
The participating nations were divided between two semi-finals during the allocation draw which took place in January 2023. It will see 31 countries compete for a place with France, Spain, Germany, Italy and the UK already through to the grand final, along with 2022 winners Ukraine, because they pay more to organisers, European Broadcasting Union.

But when is the first semi-final, when is the second and how long are they on for? Here's everything you need to know.
What time is the first Eurovision semi-final 2023?
The first semi-final will take place on Tuesday, May 9 and will air at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. It will broadcast for two hours and 10 minutes, ending at 10:10pm.
The acts taking part in the first semi-final and the running order of those competing are:

The second semi-final will take place on Thursday, May 11 and again will air at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. It will broadcast for two hours and 10 minutes, ending at 10:10pm.
