What time is Susanna Reid's GMB interview with Boris Johnson today?

Boris Johnson is to be interviewed on Good Morning Britain for the first time in almost five years this morning (Tuesday, May 3). Presenter Susanna Reid will be speaking to the Prime Minister live from 10, Downing Street in London.

GMB viewers haven't seen Mr Johnson interviewed on the programme since 2017 when he was still foreign secretary and the PM was Theresa May. He made a brief appearance on the show in December 2019 when he walked away from cameras and appeared to hide in an industrial fridge in order to avoid engaging in an interview.

This morning, speaking live outside Downing Street, Reid, 51, said that while the PM has had some praise from Ukraine for the UK's assistance since the Russian invasion, back home there is pressure instead of praise piling on him.

That pressure includes sexism in Parliament, as well as his own fine for breaking lockdown rules. She added: "And away from the corridors of power, to a country facing a mounting cost of living crisis, families forced to choose between heating and eating, struggling to cope with costs that keep going up."

The interview was scheduled to air from 8.15am but was running late and had still not begun at 8.25am. It comes just days before the local elections on Thursday give millions of people across the UK a chance to vote on local issues, as well as on the national leadership of Mr Johnson.

In October last year, during the Conservative Party conference in Manchester, attempts were once again made to get the Prime Minister to appear on the breakfast show. Presenter Ranvir Singh attempted to engage with Johnson and invited him to speak on the show but she was met with a raised hand as the Prime Minister walked off.

Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays on ITV at 6am.
