We can hear the drums, Ant and Dec are getting themselves ready on the iconic rope bridge and there's a bunch of new campmates heading for the jungle which can only mean one thing... I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here is back.
For the first time in three years, the Geordie presenting duo, the ITV reality show's crew and the celebrities swapping everything for jungle life will be back in Australia. The show temporarily moved to North Wales, Gwrych Castle to be exact, for the last two series due to travel restrictions as a result of the coronavirus pandemic..
A Queen was crowned when author and podcaster Giovanna Fletcher won the show in 2020 and last year, former Emmerdale actor Danny Miller emerged victorious as King of the Castle. This means that ex-EastEnders actress Jacqueline Jossa is still reigning champ when it comes to being King or Queen of the jungle.
But that will change in a matter of weeks as I'm A Celebrity is back Down Under and returns to our screens on Sunday night (November 6) at 9pm with an extended 105-minute episode.
When the return date was announced, fans were quick to realise that it is starting much earlier than last year's series which didn't kick off until the end of the month. Well, the start date is slightly earlier than usual to avoid a clash with the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which kicks off in Qatar on Sunday, November 20.
And so, who is heading into the jungle? Coronation Street’s Sue Cleaver, reality TV star Olivia Attwood, radio DJ Chris Moyles, rugby star and royal Mike Tindall, and Loose Women star Charlene White are just some of those who will be swapping their luxuries for bushtucker trials and camp life.
Also making up this year's batch of campmates are Boy George, Hollyoaks’ Owen Warner, TV presenter and property expert Scarlette Douglas, former footballer Jill Scott and comedian Babatunde Aleshe.
But as ever, there will be some additional contestants. It was revealed earlier this week that former health secretary Matt Hancock will be one of two latecomers to the camp Matt, 44, will enter the jungle after he was spotted arriving in Australia last Tuesday evening.
He has also written a column in The Sun defending his decision to agree to take part in the popular programme, claiming he 'hasn't lost his marbles' and that by joining I’m A Celebrity he can "go to where the people are — not to sit in ivory towers in Westminster."
After threats of a boycott, executive producer Olly Nash told The Mirror when seaking out on the decision for Matt's appearance on the 2022 series: "It's always an individual's choice to come into camp, isn't it? And at any point, any celebrity can say I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here. So that's the only thing really to add. I think.
