What time is EastEnders on tonight? This week's schedule shakeup explained

Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, broadcasters have altered their schedules during the national period of mourning.

For the BBC, its channels continue to face disruption across the week, as BBC One has been wall-to-wall coverage of the event.

Most of the channel’s content has been transplanted over to BBC Two and the same will be true for much of the week.

It doesn’t mean shows will be running at the same time though, as some series have been pushed back later in the day.

EastEnders is no different, with the flagship soap being booted into a later timeslot.

You won’t want to miss it either, as it’s a day Phil and Kat have been waiting for – their wedding day.

It wouldn’t be EastEnders with some drama on the big day, with Big Mo making her return for the wedding.

She isn’t the only one coming back either, so here is all the information you need on how to see it.

What time is EastEnders on tonight?

EastEnders will air at the later time of 9pm (BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron)

The next episode of EastEnders will air on BBC Two, tonight (September 13) at 9pm.

Tonight’s episode was originally gong to air on BBC One at 8.30pm but was moved to the other channel in a last minute decision from the broadcaster.

It has been done in part to add a pre-credits scene added featuring Linda, Denise and Kathy talking about the Queen in the wake of her death.

On BBC One tonight viewers will be able to watch Scotland: The Vigil, a special showing the latest from Edinburgh between 7.45pm and 8.30pm.

Immediately after will air The One Show: Our Queen from 8.30pm until 9pm before The Capture drops its final episode at 10.10pm.

When is EastEnders on for the rest of the week?

EastEnders will return to normal scheduling for the rest of the week (BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron)

For the remainder of the week, viewers will be able to watch new episodes of EastEnders at 7.30pm on BBC iPlayer, including tonight’s episode.

On Wednesday and Thursday, it will run at 7.30pm again as normal on BBC One.

Currently, the BBC has EastEnders listed as airing at 7.30pm on BBC One on Monday, September 19.

This is the day of the Queen’s funeral, which has been confirmed to be a bank holiday.

The broadcaster has not announced a change to the usual schedule, but one could come for that day.
