Gareth Southgate and his England side will be hoping to replicate a similar performance that unified the nation almost 12 months ago when they travel to Munich to take on Germany in their second Nations League group match.
However, after an opening day defeat to Hungary at the Puskas Arena, England will be hoping to get their Nations League campaign back on track with a win against Hansi Flick's side this evening at the Allianz Arena.
In the back of every England fans minds, many will remember that when the Three Lions last met Germany, it was England who triumphed 2-0 on their way to the Euro 2020 final, with goals from Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane sending the crowd inside Wembley into delirium at the round of 16 stage.

But Germany will be after revenge and a result of their own following their 1-1 draw against European Champions Italy in the other game in Group A, with Joshua Kimmich's goal cancelling out Lorenzo Pellegrini's strike in the 73rd minute to share the spoils at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.
This time round there is arguably less at stake, but it is worth noting that the last time the two sides met in Munich 21 years ago, Sven Goran Eriksson's side pulled off one the finest performances seen from the national team, with a Michael Owen hat-trick inspiring the Three Lions to a 5-1 victory back in 2001.

What is the team news?
England: The Three Lions look set to be without Phil Foden (Covid), and James Justin, with the Leicester City man limping off on his full England debut and replaced by Bukayo Saka. However, both Fikayo Tomori and Raheem Sterling could be in contention to come into the side, after the pair missed out on the visit to the Puskas Arena last Saturday.
Reece James could also be pushing for a start, despite conceding a penalty after replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold as Southgate looks to utilise his options in the right back position.
Germany: For the hosts, changes could be on the cards for Hansi Flick following their 1-1 draw with European champions Italy, with Marco Reus expected to just miss out.
After coming on as substitutes against Italy at the weekend, both Ilkay Gundogan and Kai Havertz could return to the starting XI, potentially replacing Leon Goretzka and Timo Werner.
