After their memorable victory over England last weekend, Scotland will be looking to back it up with another win back on home soil against Wales.
Gregor Townsend has made one change to the side that won at Twickenham as Zander Fagerson starts ahead of WP Nel in the number three jersey after recovering from a hamstring injury sustained at the start of December.
Fagerson has been in full training for the past two-and-a-half weeks and management are confident that, despite his lack of recent game time, he is equipped to start against the Welsh.
Nel, the 36-year-old Edinburgh prop who started at Twickenham, drops to the bench, with Simon Berghan – who was among the replacements last weekend – out of the 23-man squad altogether.
Meanwhile, Warren Gatland has left out three British and Irish Lions – Alun Wyn Jones, Justin Tipuric and Taulupe Faletau – from the Welsh starting line-up.
Lock Jones, who failed a head injury assessment against Ireland last weekend but was ruled available for selection, and flanker Tipuric are not in the matchday 23 for Murrayfield, while number eight Faletau has to be content with a bench spot.
They represent huge selection calls by Gatland following Ireland’s dominant 34-10 victory in Cardiff.
