What time and TV channel is Ireland v Australia on today?

Australia are in Dublin for Ireland's final rugby international of the year as Andy Farrell's side aim to end the year on a high.

Farrell has unsurprisingly named his strongest possible team for the match, making eight personnel changes from the victory over Fiji last weekend.

Johnny Sexton captains the side, with James Ryan, Andrew Porter, Josh Van Der Flier and Hugo Keenan also recalled after overcoming fitness issues. Dan Sheehan, Peter O’Mahony and Garry Ringrose are the other players restored to the starting XV.

The Wallabies come into the game on the back of a shock result to Italy in Florence last weekend, but they have made 10 changes to the side that started that game.

Prop Allan Alaalatoa, centres Hunter Paisami and Len Ikitau, and wings Tom Wright and Mark Nawaqanitawase are the only five men retained from the Wallabies team which began the humiliating and historic 28-27 loss.

Scrum-half Nic White and fly-half Bernard Foley will resume their half-back partnership in a side captained by veteran prop James Slipper.

Andrew Kellaway replaces the dropped Jock Campbell at full-back to join Wright and last week’s debutant Nawaqanitawase in the back three.

Skipper Slipper and Alaalatoa will pack down either side of hooker David Porecki, while lock Nick Frost has shaken off illness and a minor ankle issue to partner Brumbies team-mate Cadeyrn Neville.

A familiar back row sees Jed Holloway return at blindside flanker, with Waratahs team-mate Michael Hooper in the number seven jersey and Rob Valetini anchoring the scrum at number eight.

Quotes corner

Ireland head coach Andy Farrell: "They have a couple of things to hang their hats on in regards to motivation.

“But in reality 10 changes for them and they get the leaders back in the room, so there is a different vibe there from the start.

“Those guys are the ones that took the field against Scotland and came so close to winning in Paris. Like we’ve said all week, we know how difficult that is.

“I’m sure they will be using last week as motivation and putting that together with coming to the Aviva and taking our scalp, I’m sure that fires them up even more.”

Australia head coach Dave Rennie: “I understand the fact that as head coach you’ve got to take things on the chin.

“It was our decision to pick that side last week and I still don’t have any regrets around the men we chose.

“It was right for the group, it’s right for the future, we need to provide opportunity for them and we need to share the load.

“It was a side that was good enough to win and we didn’t so I’ve got to take responsibility for that.

“I know we’ve got a very determined squad, we want to make a statement this weekend.”
