It feels like the season has only just finished, but with players returning to pre-season, preparations are already under way ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
Fans of both Cardiff City and Swansea City are set to experience a season that will be unlike those of years gone by, with the upcoming World Cup in Qatar set to have a knock-on effect on the EFL calendar.
Due to the searing heat in the tiny Gulf nation, the competition is set to be staged across November and December, and the upcoming season will subsequently start on the weekend beginning July 30 and 31 - although it's possible that the curtain-raiser for the Championship will be pencilled in for live TV coverage on Friday, July 29.
