Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is reportedly ready to throw his support behind Thomas Tuchel this summer as the club look to close the gap on Manchester City in the Premier League.
Hopes had been high that a push for the top-flight title would be on the cards this season but the past couple of months have seen City stretch their lead over the Blues at the top of the table to 16 points.
While Tuchel's men boast a game in hand, it still leaves a huge mountain for them to overcome, and focus may now turn to the three cup competitions the club remain in.
After losing to Pep Guardiola for a second time this season in January, Tuchel admitted that any title hopes were now out of their hands.
"It's not my question to answer," he said on BT Sport when asked if Chelsea's title chances are over.
"We won't give up, but if City keep on winning every game, nobody can catch them."

However, the club are plotting a big push for the top-flight title in 2022/23, with Abramovich and the powers that be at Stamford Bridge are preparing to back Tuchel this summer, according to a report from The Telegraph.
The start of this term saw just three new faces arrive, including the record transfer of Romelu Lukaku for £97million, but a significant overhaul could be required imminently.
How Tuchel acted during the January transfer window is said to have won him plenty of admirers among the board.
Chelsea went into the window trailing City significantly but Tuchel was not interested in panic buys, instead focusing his attentions on reinforcing the left side of his defence in the absence of Ben Chilwell.
While that pursuit did not bring about any new acquisitions, the measured approach impressed those above him and looks set to earn him some big financial backing in the summer.
