'What the f**k' - Two-bed flat in Bristol now selling for £780,000

Shocked locals have blasted prices at a new development, which has two-bed flats on sale for more than three-quarters of a million pounds.

The Director's Suite at the new Factory No.1 will set you back £780,000. The luxury flats are based at the former Wills Tobacco headquarters, in Bedminster, and boast decadent artwork inspired by the kind of creations found on Wills' famous cigarette cards.

But some believe the opulent decor isn't worth the hefty price tag as a two-bed flat less than two miles away only costs £180K. The luxury flat is described on Rightmove as having a 'sumptuous open plan living space with multiple living arrangement options including luxurious kitchen, breakfast area, formal dining space and relaxed living area'.

Owners will also have to pay £3824.38 annually on the building's service charge.

Discussing the property on Reddit, lots of locals weren't impressed. One person said: "£780k for a 2 bed flat in Bedminster... What the f**k"

Another wrote: "My sister literally got a semi-detached house in London Streatham for 700k so a 2 bed in Bristol is like …well yea I mean how much are high ceilings and big windows valued at."

Someone else penned: "It’s just so completely misplaced for that area… it’s like putting a golden star on a piece of turd…well that’s harsh as I actually don’t think Bedminster is a turd, but I hope you get the gist."

But lots of commenters did point out the flats are a big size - 1,615 sq. ft - so were good value for money. One person said: "If you can afford it and want high ceilings and wood panelling then I don't have a big problem with it.

"I'm more annoyed that a 2-3 bed pebble dashed mid-terrace anywhere in Bristol is 4-500k."

Another wrote: "It’s a two bed the size of a five bed though. You are paying for the space not per bedroom.

"It’s not aimed at the usual two-bed flat buyers, but at someone that wants single-level living in a fancy environment, doesn’t need the extra bedrooms that usually comes with that amount of square footage and can afford it."
