A lack of options
Antonio Conte's Tottenham bench for Saturday's Premier League game against Leeds had a rather youthful look about it following a number of injuries in N17.
Already without Oliver Skipp and Japhet Tanganga once again due to their groin and knee issues, Rodrigo Bentancur joined his teammates in the treatment room following the ankle injury he sustained at Burnley in midweek.
Conte's woes were then further compounded by Lucas Moura picking up a knock in training at Hotspur Way on Friday which subsequently ruled him out of action.
Having a small squad already following Spurs' January transfer business, the injuries meant that academy player Alfie Devine got his chance on the bench for the first time since last March's Premier League win at Aston Villa.
The young midfielder joined fellow youngsters Harvey White and Dane Scarlett on the bench, with academy graduate Brandon Austin also on there with Pierluigi Gollini's illness once again keeping him out.
Not really an ideal situation to be in with the team having top-four aspirations, Conte's Leeds selection only highlighted the importance of having strength in depth to help deal with the challenges that come a team's way during a season.
However, they didn't exactly need help late on in the game after running riot vs Leeds.
Why Romero was angry with Harrison
Leeds fans were not impressed at all in the early stages of the game with referee Craig Pawson electing against giving a free-kick to Jack Harrison.
Running at the Tottenham defence, the Leeds winger went to ground just outside the box following a challenge from Cristian Romero.
The Spurs defender was perhaps lucky to get away with it as he had moved across to attacker and put his arm across his opponent to send him to the ground.
Romero clearly believed Harrison went down far too easy and leaned over the player when he was on the ground and said a few choice words to him.
Conte's wing-back role works to perfection
Conte's wing-back plan has failed to really take off at Tottenham since his November appointment.
Getting so much joy from the wide areas in his past two jobs at Chelsea and Inter Milan, Spurs have struggled to get goals and assists from the wing-backs in Conte's system.
Well, it worked to perfection for the Lilywhites at Elland Road.
The team's first goal of the day was exactly what the head coach wants from his wing-backs, with the player not on the ball getting into the box when the other is in possession.
Played in by Harry Winks, Ryan Sessegnon had time and space down the left to get his cross in and it duly saw Matt Doherty attack the back post and finish expertly from the resulting cross.
It was brilliant play by Spurs and it will have gone down extremely well with Conte.
Having combined so well for the first goal, the duo almost linked up again with Doherty this time looking to pick out Sessegnon in the box but he just couldn't connect with the ball in.
Struggling to find their top form since their respective transfers to the club, both Doherty and Sessegnon caught the eye in West Yorkshire with their countless runs down the flanks helping Spurs out in the final third.
Why Conte was booked
Referee Pawson was a busy man in the second half after dishing out the yellow cards.
Booking Mateusz Klich and Stuart Dallas in quick succession for fouls, Leeds left-back Junior Firpo then found himself in the book seconds later after launching the ball away following a foul on Romero that saw Spurs receive a free-kick.
Conte was not impressed by a number of the fouls on his players, most notably the one from Dallas as he went right through the back of Sessegnon on the halfway line.
Later seeing another foul on Romero right in front of the dugout, Conte, who was clearly angry about the fouls, berated the referee and it saw him brandished with a yellow card.
Sublime Kane
Outstanding one week ago in the team's incredible 3-2 win over Man City, Harry Kane was at the top of his game once again as he played a major part in Tottenham's Leeds demolition.
On the scoresheet with Spurs' third of the day after a great finish from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's lofted ball, the England captain then added an assist with a sublime ball over the top that Son Heung-min finished off.
Kane was at it over the course of the game as he constantly created problems for Leeds with his vision and precise through balls, with Emerson Royal almost benefiting from an exquisite pass only for Illan Meslier to deny him.
Having netted the fourth of the afternoon and created Premier League history in the process by combining for a record 37th time in the league with the South Korean, Son was keen to celebrate with Kane in front of the travelling fans.
Running straight over to his teammate as Kane walked towards the away fans after playing the ball over the top from inside his own half, Son grabbed the striker and pointed to him when turning to the away fans.
He wanted to share the moment with his teammate and also make sure that he got plenty of praise for his role in the strike and also the record.
