Restricted Boston Celtics free agent forward Grant Williams is now set to join the Dallas Mavericks under a four-year, $53 million sign-and-trade agreement per multiple reports on Wednesday evening, and some fans and analysts are not so crazy about the three-team trade also involving the San Antonio Spurs.
The Celtics will acquire three second-round picks and a traded player exception for their troubles, the Mavs’ the services of the Charlotte native plus the cap relief that made it possible, and San Antonio will receive veteran wing Reggie Bullock and an unprotected pick swap for lending their cap space to make the trade go down.
What do these developments mean for the Celtics, Mavericks, Spurs, and the wider NBA landscape?
The hosts of the CLNS Media “Garden Report” podcast gathered together for an emergency pod to break down all the Grant Williams trade news.
Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say.
