Scotland fans don't need to dare to dream any more, because the chance of reaching the Euro 2024 Finals in Germany is within touching distance.
It was said to be that close by skipper Andy Robertson after the heroics in Oslo, but add to that the wild and wonderful events of Tuesday night's 2-0 win over Georgia and the Tartan Army are starting to get their ducks in a row for a summer bonanza on the continent. After all, Steve Clarke's side sit atop the Group A mountain with four wins from the opening four qualifying games, a one hundred per cent record and a feat never before seen has been achieved by his current Scotland team of heroes.
There was a tangible feeling inside Hampden Park that a positive result against Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Co would change the landscape of how the group could finish, with Callum McGregor and Scott McTominay stepping up to the plate with goals to fire up an already raucous crowd in Mount Florida.
The Celtic man may have scored around two hours before his Scotland teammate, with much of the delay and dithering being caused by an anxious Georgian side who seemed set on staying in their dressing room rather than to brave the Glasgow conditions.
Nevertheless Clarke and Co capped off a bizarre night with another three points as the ex-Kilmarnock gaffer continues to defy some lingering doubters by breaking records. But the path to a second consecutive major Euro finals seems to be well in the offing.
After four match days, Scotland sit with more points (12) than the rest of Spain, Georgia, Cyprus and Norway combined. Clarke's men have a healthy goal difference of eight, and have lost just one goal at the hands of Manchester City hitman Erling Haaland from the penalty spot on Saturday in Oslo. Only Spain have a positive goal difference after four matches.

And Scotland could wrap up qualification and win the group in the next two match days if all goes to plan. It's three away games on the bounce for the Scots, with Cyprus first up on matchday five. If Scotland win, the nation would sit on 15 points and should Spain see off Georgia, it would put Clarke's men in pole position.
Scotland don't feature on match day six but should Spain see off Cyprus at home and a draw between Norway and Georgia is confirmed, the Scots will automatically qualify for the finals next year. And that, to put the cherry on top of the cake, could happen as Scotland play the Auld Enemy at Hampden in a friendly.
Mount Florida would spontaneously combust upon hearing the news of automatic qualification as Clarke and Co battle England, and no doubt the partying would go on way in to the night if all goes to plan. Of course, there is always a contingency and should the nation beat Spain again away on match day seven, qualification will be sealed at that juncture.
