What's on TV tonight? University Challenge, Holding and new comedy Newark, Newark

Are you looking for a programme to watch on your TV screens this evening? We've scoured through the TV guides and looked across the broadcasting channels BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky, ITV and more to pick out some of the best shows set to air tonight.

For those not wanting to miss the soaps, Emmerdale will be on from 7.30 pm on ITV with an hour-long episode of Coronation Street following on at 8pm. Over on E4 Hollyoaks will air from 7pm and over on BBC One Walford-soap EastEnders will start at 7.30pm.

University Challenge - BBC Two - 8pm

It's the second and final week of semi-finals on tonight's University Challenge where the University of Reading go head-to-head against The University of Edinburgh to bag the last place in the final. Jeremy Paxman will return to host and the University Challenge final is set to air on BBC Two on April 4.

Panorama, Beyond Reasonable Doubt: Britain's Rape Crisis - BBC One - 9pm

On this week show, Panorama will air a documentary that investigating why only one percent of reported rapes in England and Wales result in a conviction. For 18 months crews have followed five people who have reported rape and the detectives investigating the cases.

Holding - ITV - 9pm

The drama series based on the best-selling Graham Norton book of the same name and starring Conleth Hill, Siobhan McSweeney, Brenda Fricker and Charlene McKenna continues with its third and penultimate instalment on ITV tonight. The final episode is set to air on ITV on April 4.

Rescue: Extreme Medics - Channel 4 - 9pm

A new factual documentary series which will show how the Scottish Trauma Network brings life-saving treatment to remote areas covering over 30,000 square miles of land in Scotland. In the first episode of this new five-part series a trauma team leave Glasgow by helicopter to travel to a remote part of Skye to help a man trapped meanwhile in rural Aberdeenshire, a 51-year-old cyclist is in need of urgent care.

Newark, Newark - Gold - 9.40pm

This is a brand-new comedy starting on Gold and starring former Coronation Street and I'm A Celeb star Beverley Callard, Gavin and Stacey's Mathew Horne and Jai Hollis, Jessie Mae Alonzo and Morgana Robinson. The three-part mini series focuses on a young man's childhood and adolescence growing up in the East Midlands market town of Newark-on-Trent.
