What’s on TV this week: 'Succession,' 'Unstable,' MLB Opening Day, 'The Power' and more

Sunday, March 26

“Great Expectations” (Hulu): The Dickens, you say! The Victorian era author’s classic coming-of-age tale is adapted into a new miniseries. With Fionn Whitehead and Olivia Colman.

“Rabbit Hole” (Paramount+): "24's" Kiefer Sutherland is back on the clock in this new espionage drama about a corporate spy framed for murder. With Charles Dance.

“Mark Twain Prize for American Humor” (CNN, 8 p.m. ET): Adam Sandler — really? Checks notes — yup, Adam Sandler is feted by his comedy peers at this year’s star-studded ceremony.

“Ride” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.): Saddle up! “Last Man Standing’s” Nancy Travis stars as the matriarch of a rodeo family in Colorado in this new drama series.

“Stranger in My House” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.): Their dream home becomes a living nightmare in this new thriller. With Andrea Bogart.

“Succession” (HBO, 9 p.m.): The Emmy-winning drama about a Murdoch-like media mogul and his fractious family is back for a fourth and final season. Brian Cox stars.

“Yellowjackets” (Showtime, 9 p.m.): They’re not out of the woods yet as this decades-spanning mystery drama returns for Season 2. With Christina Ricci, Juliette Lewis and Melanie Lynskey.

“HouseBroken” (Fox, 9:30 p.m.): While the humans are away, the cats and dogs will play in new episodes of the animated comedy.

“Eva Longoria: Searching for Mexico” (CNN, 10 p.m.): The “Desperate Housewives” actor savors the flavors of our neighbor to the south in this new six-part foodie travelogue.

“Seeking Brother Husband” (TLC, 10 p.m.): There are two boys for every girl as couples become "throuples" in this new reality TV spinoff.

Monday, March 27

“The Young and the Restless 50th Anniversary Celebration” (CBS, 8 p.m.): Cast members reunite as the long-running daytime drama marks a milestone in this new special.

“The Bachelor” (ABC, 8 p.m.): Zach makes his selection in the competition’s season finale, followed by the customary “After the Final Rose” special.

“iHeartRadio Music Awards” (Fox, 8 p.m.): Pink and Taylor Swift are singled out for special honors at this year’s ceremony at the Dolby Theatre.

“Independent Lens” (PBS, 10 p.m.): Two young women in China push back against traditional gender roles in Violet Du Feng’s poignant 2022 documentary “Hidden Letters.”

“American Dad” (TBS, 10 p.m.): CIA agent Stan Smith suits up for an 18th season of irreverent animated comedy.

Tuesday, March 28

“Mae Martin: SAP” (Netflix): The nonbinary Canadian comic and “Flight Attendant” co-star cracks wise in this new stand-up special.

“Finding Your Roots With Henry Louis Gates, Jr.” (PBS, 8 p.m.): This just in: Journalists Jim Acosta and Van Jones explore their family histories in this new episode.

“American Experience” (PBS, 9 p.m.): The new episode “The Movement and the ‘Madman’” details how antiwar protests in 1969 helped derail President Richard Nixon’s plans to escalate the conflict in Vietnam.

“Renovation 911” (HGTV, 8 p.m.): This place is a disaster! Homes seriously damaged by flood, fire, etc., get the TLC they need in this new renovation series.

Wednesday, March 29

“The Big Door Prize” (Apple TV+): Small-town residents trust their fates to a fortune-telling machine in this new fantasy comedy. Chris O’Dowd stars.

“Emergency: NYC” (Netflix): This new docuseries gets up close and personal with EMTs and ER staffers as they respond to life-or-death situations.

“Riverdale” (The CW, 8 p.m.): It ain't exactly happy days as the gang finds itself stranded in the 1950s in the mystery drama’s Season 7 premiere.

Thursday, March 30

“RapCaviar Presents” (Hulu): Tyler, the Creator and Jack Harlow are among hip-hop artists sharing their stories in this new series.

“Unstable” (Netflix): An eccentric entrepreneur (Rob Lowe) and his estranged son (real-life son John Owen Lowe) form an odd couple in this new comedy series.

MLB Opening Day (ESPN, 7 p.m.) Play ball! The Houston Astros host the Chicago White Sox in prime time as all 30 teams are in action to start the 2023 season.

“Prom Pact” (Disney, 8 p.m.): A straight-A student and her misfit BFF join forces to improve their social standing in this new TV movie. With Peyton Elizabeth Lee.

“CSI: Vegas” (CBS, 10 p.m.): “I’ll Fly Away’s” Regina Taylor guest stars on a new episode of the forensics drama.

Friday, March 31

“Die Hart” (Roku): Comic Kevin Hart continues his quest to become an A-list action star in new episodes of the satirical series

“Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.” (Disney+): The aforementioned Peyton Elizabeth Lee returns in a second season of this reboot of the 1989-93 sitcom.

“Eva the Owlet” (Apple TV+): Give a hoot and watch this new family-friendly animated series based on Rebecca Elliott's children’s books.

“Monumental: Ellie Goulding at Kew Gardens” (Freevee): The British singer holds court at the Royal Botanic Gardens in London in this new concert special.

“The Power” (Prime Video): Sparks fly when teenage girls around the world discover they have the ability to control electricity in this new sci-fi series. With Toni Collette.

“Tetris” (Apple TV+): “Rocketman’s” Taron Egerton portrays the Dutch entrepreneur who introduced the titular video game to the world in this fact-based 2023 tale.

“TMZ No BS” (Tubi): A new installment charts the life and career of chart-topping “WAP” rapper Cardi B.

“The Unheard" (Shudder): A young woman who underwent a procedure to repair her damaged hearing hears more than she bargained for in this 2023 terror tale. Lachlan Watson stars.

“Whose Line Is It Anyway?” (The CW, 9 p.m.): The improv comedy challenge kicks off another season. Aisha Tyler hosts.

“Joni Mitchell: The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song” (PBS, 9 p.m.): The beloved singer-songwriter is feted by James Taylor, Brandi Carlile, et al. in this new special.

“The Great American Joke Off” (The CW, 9:30 p.m.): Comics put their best gags forward in this new competition hosted by Dulce Sloan.

Saturday, April 1

NCAA Tournament (CBS, 7 p.m.): The Final Four men's college basketball teams face off at NRG Park in Houston in March Madness's penultimate matchups.

Wrestlemania 39 (Peacock, 8 p.m.; also next Sunday): Pro wrestling’s finest face- off at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, in this two-night event.

“Love in the Maldives” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.): A travel writer gets busy with a tropical resort’s guest experience liaison in this new TV movie. With Jocelyn Hudon.

“Saturday Night Live” (NBC, 11:30 p.m.): “Abbott Elementary’s” Quinta Brunson hosts and rapper Lil Yachty performs.

"ACL Presents: Americana 21st Annual Honors" (PBS, 11:30 p.m.): The aforementioned Brandi Carlile is among the honorees in this special.
