Rangers managed to rake in more than £20million this season despite failing to get their hands on any silverware, according to the latest prize money list.
Michael Beale's side lost out Celtic in the Viaplay Cup final in February, while they were eliminated from the Scottish Cup by Ange Postecoglou's side at the semi-final stage. A second place finish in the league saw £2.7m added to the bank, while group stage Champions League football took in a whopping £17.7m. In total the Ibrox club accumulated £20.9m this season.
That was swamped by Celtic's £30m for winning the league, the Viaplay Cup and getting to the Scottish Cup final - while the Champions League brought in £25.2m alone. Postecoglou's transfer fund is already massive but it could get bigger with a win against Inverness Caley Thistle in the final at Hampden on Saturday afternoon. Both Glasgow teams benefitted hugely from European football this year but they weren't the only ones as Hearts secured nearly £5m for a Europa Conference League adventure this season.
Motherwell and Dundee United both got a boost from their exploits in Europe, but it was Barry Robson's Aberdeen side who finished in fourth place in the financial table. The Dons will benefit from a European tour next season but without one this campaign they were around £4.5m down on Hearts.
Here's how the prize money breaks down:
Celtic - £30m
Rangers - £20.9m
Hearts - £7m
Aberdeen - £2.5m
Motherwell - £2.2m
Hibs - £2m
Dundee United - £1.9m
