There is no guarantee that every player who signs for Chelsea will be welcomed to Stamford Bridge open arms and, in many cases, it takes a while to win the supporters' backing; whether it be the accumulation of small deeds or a bombshell gesture. And, if Raheem Sterling's credential weren't enough of a qualifier already, the 27-year-old has won over the Blues fanbase just days into penning a five-year deal.
The England international joined Thomas Tuchel's squad in the United States earlier this week following his Manchester City exit, in a deal which saw Todd Boehly table £47.5million for the winger's signature. Sterling was presented to Chelsea fans who were waiting outside the club's pre-season training base in Los Angeles and he was welcomed with great applause.
He then proceeded to sign a fan's shirt as supporters clambered to get a picture of him. And, a video has since surfaced of Sterling being encouraged to sign a City shirt to which he quickly turned his nose up at.
