What Palmeiras' Brazilian rivals have done ahead of Chelsea Club World Cup showdown

FIFA Club World Cup finalists Palmeiras will certainly be feeling the pressure ahead of the Chelsea showdown on Saturday at the Mohammad Bin Zayed Stadium after what their Brazilian rivals have done.

Both Chelsea and Palmeiras reached the final of the competition after the pair overcame sides from the Middle East and North Africa respectively against Al Hilal and Al Ahly.

Ahead of the final, it seems as though the Brazilian outfit have a numerical advantage in the 15,000 fans that will be occupying the Stadium come 4:30pm on Saturday.

"Before we travel we watched a video of them leaving training to come here," Zsolt Low said in his Al Hilal post-match press conference.

"We see a lot of pictures and videos of how fans celebrate and support the team. It's amazing. They have amazing supporters for sure. In the final 10,000, 15,000 will be here maybe.

"I expect a big atmosphere but we are used to that from big Champions League games, big finals. We're prepared for it. I expect a good atmosphere."

This won't concern Chelsea one bit, who appear to relish the underdog role more as shown by the two Champions League wins against Bayern Munich and, most recently, Man City.

But they won't be outnumbered in one sense, due to the fact that most of South America appear to be rooting for the Blues in the showpiece event, which is viewed by Brazilian clubs as their proper Champions League final.

This is because, as per @UnioesSinistras, all teams from Campeonato Brasileiro Série A will be temporarily changing their club emblems to add Chelsea into them ahead of the weekend.

Even Corinthians, a team that inflicted heartbreak upon Rafa Benitez at the time in the 2012 final in Tokyo, have shown their support for the west Londoners with their new comprised name for one weekend only - Chelsrinthians.

Other new names to have entered the footballing world for one day only are; Sao Chelsea (Sao Paulo), Chelsea Mineiro (Atletico Mineiro), Chelsea Paranaense (Atletico Paranaense).

This isn't out of the ordinary as the same happened back in 2012 and in 2019 when Flamengo were targeted as Liverpool eventually ran out winners, to the delight and relief of the hardcore rival fans out there in Brazil.

Low has already said what his side expect in the final: "Palmeiras is a very, very big team with a good European coach. We expect a very hard game in the final with a lot of spectators from Brazil.

"Like today it will feel like an away game. That makes things more difficult but we're ready to play the final. We're here to win it."

Thomas Tuchel's German assistant added: "I think that we are well prepared for this tournament and final. The most important thing is we play a little bit more free in the final with better rhythm.

"It was good to play first time in this stadium, to acclimatise. We know they are a very big club in Brazil. They have a lot of good players. In the next days we'll watch the videos, analyse their games. We'll be well prepared."
