Steven Gerrard went to speak with the officials after Aston Villa's draw with Manchester City to get an explanation for their disallowed goal.
Philippe Coutinho was erroneously flagged offside when he smashed the ball into the net - although Ederson and other players had already stopped because they had seen the linesman's decision - to deny Villa a second goal when the score was at 1-1. The home side kept pushing for another but had to settle for a point.
Gerrard was left frustrated that the VAR could not be brought into use because the on-field officials had already made the call, and went to their room after the game to get an explanation. The Villa manager described his version of events and said that the officials recognised what he had to say.
