The US has signed an economic deal with Ukraine which indicates that Ukraine will be giving Washington access to natural resources in return for future US security assistance.

The US Treasury announced a “reconstruction investment fund” for Ukraine on Wednesday, which Ukraine’s prime minister, Denys Shmyhal, has described as “truly an equal and good international deal”.
