The Traitors final has come and gone. It’s mixed emotions for us all, as we were looking forward to it so much. However, we’re also sad that it’s over! It’s not all doom and gloom, though, as now we can look back on this series (spoilers incoming) and work out how the traitors triumphed.
After a similar result in the celebrity version of the series, it’s the perfect time to look at what makes a good traitor. We’ve all asked ourselves whether we’d prefer to be a faithful or a traitor if we were on the show. If we did get that tap on the shoulder, here’s how we’d handle it.
Confidence and Bluffing
Taking Rachel Duffy as an example, it’s clear that staying calm, cool and collected is crucial. Her level of poise and poker face wouldn’t be out of place in the live casino at NetBet. We know that she’d make a great poker player. A good traitor acts with confidence and knows when to bluff. Judging by the shocked faces of her fellow players, Rachel nailed those attributes.
She didn’t do it alone, though. It’s worth noting that her pact with fellow traitor Stephen not to vote for each other helped. It was Rachel who was mostly in charge of the game, though. In our opinion, she thoroughly deserves her share of the £95,750 prize pool.
FBI Training Rumours
If you’re a fan of the series, you’ll have noticed that she regularly talked about her FBI training in the castle. It was a useful tool to convince the faithful that she could read people and spot traitors. Rachel Duffy has since spoken out about the FBI training rumours on the final episode of The Traitors: Uncloaked.
The truth is that while she was trained by a former FBI agent, it wasn’t quite the thorough course that she made it out to be. However, her one-day course on Tactical Skills in Negotiating with Difficult People actually paid off. She certainly knew which tactics to employ, including lots of distraction and deflection.
The Traitors Final
The Traitors final was full of drama. It was touch-and-go whether Stephen was going to break their pact and aim to keep the money all to himself. However, he stayed true to Rachel, delivering us an even more satisfying ending to a nail-biting season.
After the celebrity series broke viewing records in 2025, we were wondering whether appetites for the drama and intrigue would continue to grow. This season certainly did keep us glued to our screens, due to the high stakes and human element of the show. The finale itself became the most-watched final of the regular show to date. It peaked at 9.6 million viewers, proving that the BBC certainly have a hit on their hands.
What Next?
All of that success and the Traitors shaped hole now in our lives leads to the question: what next? Well, it’s early days for any announcements about the next series or any upcoming celebrity versions. We can only hope that those will come about. However, there is some exciting news for fans.
The show will hit the West End with a stage adaptation. The Traitors on Stage will arrive in a London theatre in 2027. The team behind the show have hinted that the live format will allow for twists that will make the show even bolder and more dramatic.
