What Jude Bellingham has said about his future amid Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United links

Jude Bellingham continues to be heavily linked with a move to Liverpool.

The Reds have the Borussia Dortmund midfielder as their number one transfer target ahead of the summer transfer window. However, Liverpool are also joined by the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid and Manchester United in being linked with a move for Bellingham.

Jurgen Klopp and the Anfield hierarchy are well known to be admirers of Bellingham, but it remains to be seen whether a deal will be able to be completed this summer. Various reports have claimed to reveal the asking price, with Dortmund likely to demand a fee in excess of £100m.

Plenty of people have given their opinion on where they think Bellingham will be playing his football from next season. The Dortmund midfielder himself has remained largely quiet on the subject of his future.

The last notable time that Bellingham addressed his future was in May 2022, shortly after the conclusion of the 2021/22 season. At the time rumours linking him with a move to Liverpool or Real Madrid dominated the headlines.

However, speaking to Ruhr Nachrichten BVB, Bellingham gave a firm response when asked about his future. The teenager stated that he would not be leaving Dortmund, as it later proved to be the case.

“The only future I think about is the next game for Dortmund," Bellingham said in May last year.

"I look forward to next season. I look forward to it finally starting. But yes, I will be here next season and I will be ready.

He added: “I have my destiny in my hands and I know that if I try hard and trust the people around me, I can move forward. I came from England as a young talent. There was not much pressure. The first season went well. There were also matches where I sat on the bench and sometimes I did not play at all.

"I think my development this year has meant that I have played a bigger role in every game except two. I am very grateful to Dortmund for the way they have nurtured my talent.

"I think a lot of the credit goes to the coaching staff and the staff who keep the noise around me. In this way I can only focus on winning matches, because that’s what I’m here for."
