What it now costs to buy a home in every part of Greater Manchester

House prices are constantly changing all across Greater Manchester and largely differ from one part of the region to the next. If you are looking to buy your first home, are wanting to move up the property ladder or would just like an idea of how much your home is worth, it's a good idea to keep up-to-date with average house prices in your local area.

Properties in Greater Manchester sold for an overall average price of £257,702 over the last year, but when looking across each of the region's 10 boroughs, the cost of properties fluctuates. In areas such as Stockport and Trafford, you can expect to pay a much larger price for a house whereas in Wigan and Bolton, house prices are much cheaper.

Using data from the HM Land Registry, we have compiled a list of the most up-to-date average house prices in every area of Greater Manchester to show you what it currently costs to buy a home in each part of the region.

Bolton

Properties in Bolton had an overall average price of £209,392 over the last year.

The majority of sales in Bolton during the last year were semi-detached properties, selling for an average price of £211,067. Terraced properties sold for an average of £155,663, with detached properties fetching £372,046.

Overall, sold prices in Bolton over the last year were 5% up on the previous year and 18% up on the 2020 peak of £176,821.
