What is the War Powers Act – can it stop Trump from declaring war on Iran?

Up until President Donald Trump announced that the United States has conducted “very successful” strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan, he played coy when asked if he would bring the US into Israel’s war on Iran.

“I may do it. I may not,” he said on Wednesday.
