Leeds city centre is well known for its shopping but sadly we have lost several big-name shops over the years. Despite new shops and boutiques popping up, we all have memories of favourite stores that are now sadly gone from the high street.
Unfortunately, the pandemic and lockdowns it brought with it hit the retail industry hard, with big brand names going bust and stores closing their doors for the final time.
Most recently across Leeds, and the rest of the country, we said goodbye to Topshop and Topman, following the collapse of January Sir Philip Green’s Arcadia retail empire.
