What is the Leeds Festival 2022 capacity? Exactly how many people can go?

Leeds Festival is just around the corner, and despite one of the headline acts pulling out, it's looking like the festival will be jam-packed. All tickets, both day tickets and weekend tickets, are officially sold out through the festival's website.

The festival, and its sister event in Reading, announced this year's festival will have not one, but two main stages again. The three headliners over the weekend are Dave, Arctic Monkeys and The 1975.

Earlier this month, three big acts on the lineup announced they would no longer be attending. Headliners Rage Against The Machine revealed they were forced to pull out after their singer Zack de la Rocha was advised not to travel for medical reasons.

Jack Harlow, a US rapper, and Eurovision winners Maneskin also cancelled their appearances. The decision has caused a backlash among organisers and fans after it emerged that the acts both cancelled during the same weekend in order to appear at the MTV Awards.

What is the crowd capacity at Leeds Festival?

There are currently no restrictions on the number of people attending outdoor gatherings in England. The capacity of Leeds festival was recorded officially as 75,000 in 2011 but has increased in the years since.

It was reported in 2019 that around 200,000 fans had attended across the weekend, between campers and those with day tickets. This year’s event is now completely sold out.

When is Leeds Festival 2022?

Leeds Festival 2022 will take place from Thursday, August 25 – Sunday, August 28 at Bramham Park in Leeds. The official line-up will take place over three days, from Friday through until Sunday, but campers can be on-site between Thursday and Monday.

Aside from the headliners, fans will also have the opportunity to see acts like Bring Me The Horizon, Megan Thee Stallion, Wolf Alice, Halsey and Bastille. For those looking for a chill way to spend the evening, organisers have brought back the cinema tent.

Found in the BBC 1Xtra tent, fans can watch a couple of short films around midnight before catching a feature flick. Titles picked this year include The Batman on Thursday, Free Guy on Friday, Spider Man: No Way Home on Saturday and Candyman on Sunday to close out the weekend.
