What is on Sue Cleaver's arm? I'm A Celebrity viewers spot 'mystery patch'

Sue Cleaver - who stars as Eileen Grimshaw in Coronation Street - is currently taking part in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! alongside the likes of Culture Club star Boy George and former health secretary Matt Hancock.

The ITV soap star entered the jungle on Sunday night's launch episode, stating in her introduction clip: "I've been on Corrie for nearly 23 years, it's a long time, I'm very old. I'm 59.

"I need to challenge myself to get out of my comfort zone, so this is my year of doing new things."

Now that the show is in the swing of things, viewers spotted a 'mystery patch' on the actress' right arm on Wednesday night, leaving them questioning what it is used for.

Here's everything you need to know about the patch on Sue Cleaver's arm.

Why is Sue Cleaver wearing a patch on her arm?

The patch on the Corrie star's right arm made an appearance within the first five minutes of Wednesday night's episode.

It initially left some viewers divided, with one Twitter user assuming that it was a nicotine patch.

They tweeted: "Anyone else notice Sue’s anti smoking patch? #ImACeleb."

However, another user pointed out: "I think it's a dexcom."

Dexcoms are used by people with diabetes and the Corrie actress suffers with Type 2 of the disease.

Mirror Online has contacted ITV for comment.

According to the NHS, diabetes is a lifelong condition that causes a person's blood sugar level to become too high.

There are two main types of diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes is where the body's immune system destroys the cells that produce insulin and Type 2 is where the body cannot produce enough insulin.

Type 2 diabetes is far more common than type 1. In the UK, around 90% of all adults with diabetes have Type 2.

Has Sue Cleaver spoken out about her diabetes before?

Back in 2011, the Corrie actress was rushed to hospital for treatment after collapsing on the soap set due to her diabetes.

A source said: "Sue was looking pretty off at around 9am just as we were getting things ready for filming.

"Then all of a sudden she just seemed to collapse and everyone was panicking. The on-site medics were called and they were very quick to get to her."

Sue previously told Diabetes Advice: "Having a good control of diabetes is really important - after all, people with the condition live with it every day, taking care of their diet and physical activity."

The new series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! airs every night at 9pm on ITV1 and ITV Hub.
