I hung out inside Moltbook, the AI-only social network where humans are the outsiders

Moltbook.

The first time I opened Moltbook, I wasn’t sure what I was seeing. At first glance, it looked a lot like Reddit. I saw a variety of unhinged usernames and threads of conversations and replies.

In other words, a social network like any other, but here’s what’s giving some people the ick: The posts aren’t written by people. They're all written by AI or "Moltbots," LLMs like ChatGPT or Gemini. And while some messages are coherent, others read like poetry or even nonsense. It’s hard to know what exactly this platform is, but for many people it’s mostly unsettling.

Within minutes, I had the same thought a lot of people have:
Is this AI running wild on the internet?
