After 14 years at the helm of ITV’s This Morning, Holly Willoughby has confirmed her departure from the show on Tuesday, October 10.
The 42-year-old television presenter announced the news on social media, explaining that she would instead be focusing on her family.
“It’s been an honour to just be part of its story and I know this story has many chapters left to go. Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family,” she wrote. The mum of three added: “I will miss you all so much.”
Rumours are now swirling over who will take over from Willoughby on This Morning, with many predicting the role might go to Alison Hammond or Josie Gibson.

As well as allegedly bagging £730,000 a year from her role on This Morning, according to the Mail Online, Willoughby was also paid thousands to present shows such as I’m a Celeb and Celebrity Juice.

In an Instagram post announcing her decision to leave the show, Willoughby said: “I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning. To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so, so much.
“This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together. Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive.
“To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you. Most of all, thank you to the wonderful viewers. You’ve been so loyal, so supportive and the very best company every day. Richard and Judy said, ‘We only look after this show, it will always belong to the viewers’.
“It’s been an honour to just be part of its story and I know this story has many chapters left to go. Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family.

What other work has Holly Willoughby done?
Willoughby initially started her professional career when she was scouted by a modelling agency at the age of 14. She then started working her way up through the television ranks as a runner before going into presenting.
She’s been working in television ever since. However, during this time she’s also had several other lucrative projects arise.
Aside from her numerous TV appearances, she has also had brand deals with Diet Coke, Garnier and M&S, which have also likely contributed to her impressive earnings.
In 2020, Willoughby left her talent agency to start her own female-run management company called Roxy Management.
