- Apple has unveiled the HomeView, a brand new smart home display device featuring a 7-inch screen and speaker base, designed to integrate the company's overhauled AI-powered Siri into everyday household living.
- Priced at £299 and available from 13 November, the HomeView can recognise up to six individuals using its camera to display personalised data, perform FaceTime calls, and control smart home devices while maintaining user privacy.
- Alongside the main display, Apple introduced updated versions of the HomePod Mini, featuring a new album-matching SoundGlow lighting effect, and the Apple TV, which now includes a built-in microphone for hands-free Siri interactions.
- Apple expanded its ecosystem with the Home Collection, featuring approved third-party hardware from LG and Schneider Electric , such as smart cameras, thermostats, and locks that can be managed via Siri or the HomeView screen.
- The new hardware forms part of a broader push into personal artificial intelligence led by chief executive John Ternus , ahead of anticipated major releases including the folding iPhone Duo and rumoured touchscreen Macs.
