- President Donald Trump has launched America.gov, which his administration calls “a single digital point of entry for Americans to access Federal government information or services online.”
- Trump said at a Tuesday launch event, "Instead of forcing citizens to search through the endless maze of tens of thousands of terrible government websites and rules, and more than 10,000 forms. You have over 10,000 forms to do basic acts. You'll now have one front door for every single question."
- “America.gov is a secure, intelligent, and service-oriented single point of entry through which an individual can sign in, communicate in plain language, receive accurate answers, and, where authorized and technically available, complete government transactions without having to navigate multiple Federal agencies’ websites,” a fact sheet from the Trump administration states.
- “Right now, Americans can ask any question on America.gov and get an up-to-date answer. Later this year, Americans will be able to complete tasks like passport renewal and Medicare enrollment on America.gov, without being sent back into a maze of websites. More services will be roll out onto America.gov as agencies integrate with it.”
- Trump was set to meet with tech and AI leaders, including Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Jensen Huang and Mark Zuckerberg, after Tuesday’s launch event amid worries over AI “doomsday” scenarios following several high-profile hacks by rogue AI agents.
