What happened with John Terry at Chelsea's Cobham training ground amid the World Cup break

Chelsea's training ground may have been at risk of feeling sparsely populated as the World Cup break got underway. There is no shortage of Blues' stars who have headed to Qatar, while Graham Potter has afforded the stars who were not called up for the competition some brief time off.

However, while Premier League 2 is on pause, Chelsea's development team still have some action to prepare for. The under-21s face Peterborough United, and Blues loanee Lucas Bergstrom, in the Papa John's Trophy on Tuesday, as they look to secure a place in the third round of the competition.

The group were hard at work at Cobham under the eye of boss Mark Robinson, while John Terry was also at the facility, likely in his capacity of academy coaching consultant.

The former Chelsea captain was not the only guest at Cobham this week, however. The likes of Charlie Webster, Dion Rankine, Leo Castledine, Eddie Beach, Mason Burstow and more were joined by New Zealand's rugby union team. The All Blacks are set to face England on Saturday at Twickenham Stadium.

Rugby's elite appeared to watch the youngster's session and spend some time in conversation too. It should perhaps come as no surprise given the Blues' willingness to engage with other teams. The trip included an exchange of ideas over best practice with Chelsea academy chief Neil Bath, who now even has a signed All Blacks shirt in his office.

It was a day that seemed appreciated by Chelsea's youngsters, with a number posting to Instagram. Derrick Abu , Bashi Humphreys, Malik Mothersille, Ben Elliott, Alfie Gilchrist, Sturge and Burstow all shared the experience to their Instagram story, while Castledine said: "Great to meet these legends" and Webster posted: "Elite."
