Liverpool progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup three years ago to the day after earning an impressive victory over Everton at Anfield.
Handing starts to a number of youngsters, which saw three players make their first-team debut, a stunning effort from Curtis Jones 19 minutes from time saw the Blues beaten in rather humiliating circumstances, having fielded a side full of seasoned professionals.
Taking one touch to control the ball on the edge of the box, the Reds' midfielder bent an effort into the top right corner to open his goalscoring account for the club. Selected ahead of Alisson Becker as the Reds' second goalkeeper for cup games, but has since fallen down the pecking order to Caoimhin Kelleher.
Nat Phillips
One of the individuals who made his first senior appearance for the Reds this evening, Nat Phillips remains a member of the first-team squad and signed a new four-year deal in the summer of 2021 amid rumours of a potential exit.
Neco Williams
Left Liverpool for Nottingham Forest during the summer transfer window to take on a new challenge. Further opportunities came the way of the Welshman on the back of the Everton match, though making the right-back spot your own is somewhat of an impossible task when Trent Alexander-Arnold is ahead of you.
James Milner
Liverpool's long-serving midfielder is still going strong and penned a one-year contract back in June to prolong his stay on Merseyside. One of the few experienced stars to represent the Reds on the evening and made his presence felt, as ever.
Adam Lallana
Like Milner, Adam Lallana added know-how to an otherwise young group of players. The English midfielder saw his contract at the club come to an end in the summer of 2020, prompting him to join Brighton.
Curtis Jones
Liverpool's match-winner has not kicked on in the way many had predicted since his crowning moment at Anfield. A mixture of injury setbacks and inconsistency has hampered Jones' progress, though time remains for the midfielder to demonstrate his quality to Klopp.
Harvey Elliott
Only 16 years of age when this fixture was staged, Elliott got a first taste of competing in a derby fixture and rose to the occasion. The former Fulham academy graduate is the only Liverpool player this campaign to feature in all 26 matches this season.
Pedro Chirivella
Chirivella called time on his time at Anfield following the conclusion of the 2019/20 season, leaving for Ligue 1 side Nantes. The Spanish midfielder turned down the offer a contract renewal at Liverpool due to fears over a lack of regular playing time. Now in his third season with Nantes, Chirivella won the Coupe de France last year and is one of the first names on the teamsheet for his current employers.
Takumi Minamino
A player who failed to truly make his mark at Liverpool, Minamino was recruited by Monaco at the end of last season and has been in and out of the starting eleven - as was often the case, too, during his spell on Merseyside. This Merseyside derby was the Japan international's maiden match for the club.
Divock Origi
The Belgian forward left as a legendary figure in the eyes of supporters last summer, having provided so many unforgettable moments in front of goal - many of which arrived against Everton. Unable to score on this occasion, Origi instead provided the assist for Jones' effort from distance. Starring for AC Milan this term, he has found the back of the net once in 14 outings.

Caoimhin Kelleher: The Irish shot-stopper has since risen up the ranks to become Alisson's back-up, playing an instrumental role in last season's Carabao Cup triumph.
Ki-Jana Hoever: Signed for Wolves in 2020 as part of a part exchange deal involving Diogo Jota. Currently on loan at PSV Eindhoven.
Yasser Larouci: A promising full-back during his Liverpool days, the 21-year-old was snapped up by French outfit Troyes in 2021 and has amassed 26 Ligue 1 appearances.
Jordan Henderson: Still the skipper of the side, Henderson put pen to paper on a new four-year deal in August 2021.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: Out of contract at the end of the campaign, Oxlade-Chamberlain's future remains up in the air.
Sadio Mane: Left supporters heartbroken after agreeing a move to German giants Bayern Munich in June. Presently sidelined through injury, preventing the Senegalese star from starring for his country at the World Cup..
Rhian Brewster: Joined Sheffield United in a deal worth £23.5million in October 2020 and remains a part of the Championship club. Goals have proved hard to come by for the forward, who has managed only five in 63 games for the Blades.
