After having millions of viewers tuning in consecutive nights, The Hunt for Raoul Moat comes to an end on Tuesday night. And the final episode is set to leave a number of unanswered questions.
The three part series, from Line of Duty and Bodyguard producers, World Productions, revisits the very real life events of July 2010, when former Newcastle doorman Moat headed to ex Samantha Stobbart’s house in Birtley, shooting dead her new boyfriend Christopher Brown, after Samantha falsely told Moat that Chris was a police officer.
After killing Chris, Moat also shot at his former girlfriend, leaving her in hospital with her injuries.

As Moat went on the run and made threats to the police and the wider public, Samantha, played by North East born actress Sally Meehan in the ITV series, issued an appeal for her killer ex to hand himself in, to no avail as the week long man hunt for Moat ended when he killed himself after a stand off with police in Rothbury.
What happened to Samantha Stobbart?
In one of the final scenes of The Hunt for Raoul Moat, Samantha, who had started a relationship with Moat when she was just 16, is seen in the public gallery, with much darker hair, as Moat’s accomplices are handed prison sentences, but then refuses to give any comment to waiting journalists.
Sam, now in her 30s, has stayed largely silence on what happened in 2010 ever since. She did give an interview to News of the World a few months after Chris’ death, saying that she'd been left with PTSD and there was nothing she could do “against a mad man with a gun,” explaining that her priority on that night was making sure Chanel, her daughter with Moat, was safe, adding: "All I have to do is shut my eyes and I'm there. Chris is lying on the grass, dead. And Raoul is outside."
Samantha, who covered all of her gunshot wounds with tattoos, including a cross dedicated to Chris, also spoke to the media after PC David Rathband, who was blinded by Moat, took his own life, saying: "I just kept thinking to myself - that's another life that Raoul's taken away. Even when he's dead, he is still hurting people.
"I'm the only one left now. Sometimes I think this will only be finished when I die. I can't imagine how horrible it must be to lose your sight. But I do have an inkling of how he must have felt."
While Samantha herself hasn't spoken about The Hunt for Raoul Moat being on TV, her sister Kelly recently told The Mirror: "We're lucky our Sam survived. ITV don't realise the impact this will have on the people involved.
"It still gives me nightmares and I suffer PTSD. I'm so sick of hearing Raoul's name, and I'm so sick of him being on TV."
