The 47-year-old blogger posted a video on YouTube on Monday and said his own mistake led to a life-threatening condition. What started as a simple flu quickly turned serious. He said he took his medicines for a week but did not eat food with them, which caused severe damage inside his body. His condition got so bad that he had to be rushed to the emergency room in an ambulance. Doctors later found he had developed an ulcer, a hole in his stomach, and then sepsis, which he said can be deadly.

Perez Hilton explained in full detail how things got worse step by step. He said after taking medicine without food for days, his stomach developed an ulcer. That ulcer then turned into a perforation, which means a hole. Soon after, he got sepsis, a serious infection that spreads in the body.
He said the pain became so intense that he could not even walk. That is when he was taken to the hospital. At Southern Hills Hospital, doctors ran tests including ultrasounds, but it took time to find the exact problem. After five days, he had laparoscopic surgery.
Even after surgery, things did not get easy. He said he had fluid in his lungs, which led to another major procedure. He also developed a heart issue during this time. On top of that, he got another infection in the hospital, which he said is common but still very scary.
Perez Hilton also spoke about how hard recovery has been. He said he had a feeding tube for weeks and later struggled when he started eating again. He also had a tube placed to remove infection and a Foley catheter, which he described as very intense. He lost a lot of weight during this time.
Now back home, he said he is still not fully okay. He showed a PICC line in his arm, explaining that one line goes directly to his heart. Despite everything, he said the experience changed him deeply.
He became emotional while talking about seeing God during his hospital stay. He said he was not a strong believer before, even though he grew up Catholic, but now he feels grateful. He also said he wants to take his children to church and focus more on family life.
He shared personal regrets too, especially about not coming out to his father before he passed away. He broke down while saying his father meant everything to him.
Perez Hilton also said he will now slow down his work and focus on better sleep and spending time with his children. He thanked his sister and mother for taking care of him and praised the doctors and nurses at Southern Hills Hospital for saving his life.
