Season 6 of Outlander recently finished and it's left fans around the world thirsting for more.
The showrunners at Starz originally confirmed that the season had been shortened from the usual 12 episodes to 8 following the outbreak of the pandemic and of course, Caitriona Balfe's pregnancy.
This meant we got a smaller (but still very exciting) season filled with all of the usual drama, action and love scenes.
However, Outlander author and creator Diana Gabaldon recently revealed that she had in fact written scripts for season 6, but we know that they weren't eventually used so what happened to them?
Well, it appears, they've been wrapped up into season 7 along with what would have been the last four episodes of season 6.
Speaking recently in an interview, Diana confirmed that the episode she penned, would have been episode 9 of the shortened season.
“I did in fact, write a script for season six," she revealed. "but that was before they decided to truncate season six and move the last four episodes into season seven."
After the conversation restarted on Twitter about the missing episode, Diana responded that she had "written 609" before explaining: "Small bits of my script are used in ep. 701, though."
Sadly, we still don't know when we are likely to see the Diana written script as the season 7 air date still hasn't been confirmed.
Speaking to Digital Spy recently, producer confirmed even she doesn't know when it'll be on our screens.
She confirmed: "I haven't been told when we will be airing season seven, all I know is we are in the beginning of shooting it now, and that's all I can say.
"I think we are on a fairly typical schedule but it is a supersized season."
