Dominic Calvert-Lewin was back among the goals as Everton continued their preparations for the new season with a training game at Finch Farm on Saturday morning.
The majority of Frank Lampard’s squad returned to training on Monday, with a number of international stars returning on Saturday having been granted an extended break after the June internationals.
And it looks as though those who returned to training on Monday all took part in the practice match. In pictures released by the club, it appears to suggest that the teams were split between senior players and youth prospects.

Calvert-Lewin, Yerry Mina, Andre Gomes, Dele Alli, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Ben Godfrey, Mason Holgate, Tom Davies, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Ellis Simms and Demarai Gray all played for the side wearing Everton’s new home kit.
While youngsters like Billy Crellin, Joe Anderson, Seb Quirk, Sean McCallister, Tom Cannon and Katia Kouyate represented the side wearing Everton’s training kit and orange bibs.
However, Lewis Warrington, who committed his future to Everton by signing a new contract back in May, featured for the side wearing the home kit. An indication perhaps that the 19-year-old midfielder may be in Lampard’s plans for the new season.
And while it is not known what the final score of the game was, Calvert-Lewin did manage to get his name back on the scoresheet. The England international finished a fine team move that was started by Jean-Philippe Gbamin. Doucoure was also on target with a close-range header.
Calvert-Lewin endured a challenging 2021/22 campaign due to injuries, mental health struggles and fluctuations in form - albeit it ended in triumphant style on that night against Crystal Palace, but he will hope, with the World Cup just around the corner, to hit the ground running this season.
Everton kick-off their pre-season fixtures with a match against Arsenal in Baltimore next Saturday. Lampard's side then start their new Premier League campaign at home to Chelsea on Saturday, August 6.
