What Gareth Bale did to Tottenham's Harry Kane ahead of vital England World Cup clash vs Wales

England are hoping to secure qualification for the World Cup round of 16 stage as Group B winners but face a tough test against fellow home nation, Wales. The Three Lions need to win the match to secure top spot in the group and avoid a clash against the Netherlands in the round of 16.

Wales have to win if they are to stand any chance of qualifying out of Group B after suffering a defeat to Iran in their last match. England have amassed four points after their opening win against Iran and 0-0 draw against the USA.

Gareth Southgate has brought in Manchester City star Phil Foden after pundits and fans called for the youngster to start against Wales. Kyle Walker, Marcus Rashford and Jordan Henderson also come into start against the Dragons, who will be hoping to cause an upset tonight.

Ahead of the match, both Kane and Bale met at the centre of the pitch to exchange a handshake, with both players having played together at Tottenham in the past. As Bale approached the Three Lions captain, he gave Kane a cheeky wink before both players focused on the task at hand.

Wales will be hoping to cause a major upset tonight and will need to win by a margin of four goals to stop England from qualifying for the knockout stages of the tournament. The Three Lions got the better of the Dragons when the two nations met in the group stages of Euro 2016, with Daniel Sturridge scoring a last-minute winner.

Wales ended up going further in that tournament than England, with Gareth Southgate's side now hoping to go one better than their previous two major tournament results and lift their first World Cup since 1966.
