This was Jordan Pickord showing what he does best.
No questions were needed to discuss who Everton ’s Man of the Match should be, the answer was an obvious one. In fact, he was the game’s best performer by a country mile.
Everton’s last trip to the capital threw Pickford back into the firing line as his mistake resulted in a Harry Kane penalty, in which Tottenham Hotspur took the lead. Everton would go on to lose the game 2-0.

It was a mistake that proved costly. And just like they always are, the pundits were queuing up in the hours and days afterwards to get their unjust jibes in.
We’ve heard it all before, of course. He’s not as good as he thinks he is and he should not be England’s No.1. Both are, of course, completely untrue.
And there was no better time for Pickford to showcase why they are than here at Craven Cottage. The pundits will have to look somewhere else this week.
Clearly buoyed by last weekend’s 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace, Everton started well. But it very quickly became the Jordan Pickford show.
Not content with one or two stunning stops, Pickford made three in quick succession to keep the scores level heading into the break. One from Willian was Pickford at his brilliant best.
He was again called into action in the second-half, this time he denied Aleksander Mitrovic from close-range. But as the pressure from Fulham kept coming, Pickford proved he was up for the challenge.
The Everton goalkeeper, perhaps encouraged by James Tarkowski and Conor Coady to do so, is also now starting to dominate his box more than he used to, which is priceless when Everton come under the pressure they did at times here.
As both sides made their way onto the Craven Cottage pitch one Fulham fan sat behind the press box couldn’t help himself.
“Pickford, you're crap mate!” was his verdict. Those sitting around him seemed to agree.
Thankfully for Everton, Pickford showed he was anything but as he earned his side a hard-earned point on the road.
