Alex Iwobi has been on an incredible transformation at Everton in recent weeks. From someone who drew numerous critics before he'd even taken to a pitch in a match, now he's one of the most important members of Frank Lampard's squad.
It's fair to say that it has taken the former Arsenal man a long time to hit these heights following his switch to Merseyside in 2019. He recently said that playing in his natural position is a big help, but added to that has been the increased confidence he has been afforded.
It's not only the Blues crowd that have sparked that, although the midfielder did remark on a moment in which he was applauded for a misplaced pass recently - with fans appreciating the idea behind his direct attack. It's not just belief from Frank Lampard either, with the new boss keen to play him in a more central role than he's been used to at Goodison park so far.

As comments in the latest club programme prove, it's the confidence of his Everton teammates that's also key. They were asked who the most skilful player in the squad is, and one answer stuck out more than most.
Anthony Gordon remarked: "Alex Iwobi. He's very sharp and his combination play is very good. He does some crazy skills too!"
Meanwhile Seamus Coleman admitted: "In training, he's full of stepovers and Cruyff turns. He's very difficult to get the ball off."
Ben Godfrey simply put: "Alex Iwobi. It's like street football!"
Mason Holgate said similar, commenting: "He's got mad feet!"
For context, the Nigeria international himself was also asked for his opinion and he selected Demarai Gray - as did Asmir Begovic and Andros Townsend. The winger himself, meanwhile, returned the favour to Iwobi.
Perhaps this is just another aspect which points towards the increased confidence of the midfielder as he continues this transformation under Lampard. He's turned into one of the most athletic players in the side, constantly chasing down and pressing opponents into difficult positions.
In fact, his manager has had recent conversations with him to tell him to hold off from sprinting directly at opponents in some occasions, saving himself for more measured attempts to win possession instead. His work rate off the ball is being widely respected by everyone enjoying his performances at Goodison Park recently.
And playing centrally has also been giving him the opportunity to show off the skills that his teammates have often raved about in training. Evertonians have heard for some time about the Nigeria international's strong attitude behind-the-scenes, and are now seeing it transform into his displays on the pitch.
Marco Silva, Carlo Ancelotti and Rafael Benitez all seemed to have reservations in playing Iwobi in his natural position at attacking midfield. However, since being trusted by Lampard to be the creative hub of the side, his through-balls and hard graft have been key factors behind something of a revival in the side through recent weeks.
But, that versatility that he has so often been almost forced to show during his time at the club is still evident. It shows his strong attitude that he's been so willing to step into any role for previous managers, and it's been the same with Lampard.
The boss entrusted the 26-year-old with lining up in a primarily right wing-back position in a tough match against Chelsea, defending against a marauding Marcos Alonso, and he performed admirably. He made two tackles, as many interceptions, three blocks - and his 46 touches of the ball were more than anyone else for the hosts.
Perhaps more than anyone else, Iwobi is the embodiment of how an increased positive attitude has helped the players onto better things. He's only made slight tweaks to his game, but they're being so well respected by the fanbase now - and that's even without considering his crucial late goal against Newcastle United last month.
Everton fans will love reading such high praise from his teammates in terms of his training skills. Long may that continue.
