Erik ten Hag has told Mason Mount he wants him to become a 'very important player' for Manchester United after signing the midfielder to his squad.
The 24-year-old England international has been officially confirmed as a United player after weeks of pursuit involving the Old Trafford club and Chelsea. Several bids were turned down by the Stamford Bridge club from United and there was a degree of doubt if the deal would get done.
Mount had only a year left to go on his deal at Chelsea. Ultimately, the London club accepted an initial £55m offer from United, with £5m in add-ons to follow should performance-related goals be achieved.
