What Erik ten Hag has told Manchester United players as Antony sends message to critics

Here are your Manchester United morning headlines on Wednesday, January 25.

What Ten Hag has told United players ahead of Nottingham Forest

Erik ten Hag doubled down on his criticism of Manchester United's defending for Arsenal's goals in their 3-2 defeat.

Ten Hag was highly critical of the manner that United allowed Eddie Nketiah to score twice and Bukayo Saka to fire Arsenal ahead in the immediate aftermath of the contest at the Emirates Stadium.

United have two cup games against Nottingham Forest and Reading this week to reset after dropping five points at Arsenal and Crystal Palace last week.

Ten Hag has now assessed the result with his squad but urged his players to "move forward and quickly" ahead of the Carabao Cup semi-final.

Antony sends message to critics

Antony says he is “seeking to evolve” and get the best out of his game ahead of an “important week” for Manchester United.

The Reds face Nottingham Forest in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final clash on Wednesday before welcoming Reading to Old Trafford in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup on Saturday evening.

Antony is experiencing a dip in form having underwhelmed in recent outings, despite scoring two goals since the turn of the new year. His last Premier League goal, though, came in October’s 2-1 win over Everton and he is yet to register an assist for his new club in 19 appearances.

The winger received criticism for his performance against Arsenal from the likes of Rio Ferdinand, who said he "can’t beat anyone". But Antony has now sent a message to fans following Rio's feedback.
