What Erik ten Hag did after final whistle in Manchester United vs Everton in the FA Cup

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag stayed in the dugout to embrace his substitutes following his side's victory over Everton in the FA Cup.

United started the evening brilliantly and were ahead inside four minutes when a Marcus Rashford cross was diverted home by Antony. The Reds were pegged back ten minutes later when a bizarre mistake by David de Gea at his near post was punished by Conor Coady.

Coady went from hero to zero after the break when more dangerous play by Rashford saw him flash a ball across the box which was turned into his own net by the centre-back. United's in-form forward would eventually grab a goal of his own in stoppage time when he converted a penalty following a foul on Alejandro Garnacho.

The Reds' team spirit to bounce back from conceding against the run of play was on full display and is something in recent weeks which Ten Hag has tried to cultivate among his squad. Immediately after the full time whistle, the Dutchman was seen enthusiastically shaking hands with each of his substitutes as they exited the bench.

Anthony Martial, Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Anthony Elanga were all seen being congratulated by Ten Hag despite only Martial featuring in the 3-1 victory over Everton. United will need all of their squad in the coming weeks as the fixtures continue to come thick and fast.

On Tuesday night, the Reds continue their pursuit for a trophy when they host League One's Charlton Athletic in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup. This is followed by two tough clashes against Manchester City and Arsenal in the Premier League.
