Emiliano Martinez produced another moment of magic in a penalty shoot-out that helped Argentina win the 2022 World Cup final over France on penalties after a 3-3 draw in 120 minutes.
Lionel Messi scored from the penalty spot in the 23rd minute after Angel Di Maria was felled by Ousmane Dembele. Argentina then doubled their lead in the 36th minute when Di Maria converted a delightful pass by Alexis Mac Allister.
Didier Deschamps made a double substitution five minutes before half time with Olivier Giroud and Ousmane Dembele replaced by Marcus Thuram and Randal Kolo Muani. The latter went on to have a huge impact winning a penalty which was converted by Kylian Mbappe with ten minutes to spare.

Argentina looked set for a nervous final few minutes but Mbappe scored after just a few seconds to send the game to extra time. Messi thought he'd won it for his country but Mbappe scored another penalty to put the game to penalties.
Emiliano Martinez had been a penalty hero for his country before and was able to produce the same heroics again, saving Kingsley Coman's spot kick before mind games with Real Madrid's Aurélien Tchouaméni saw him drag his effort wide.
The Aston Villa man threw the ball away before Tchouaméni took his penalty and that clearly affected the France midfielder who slotted his penalty wide of the target.
Gonzalo Montiel then converted Argentina's spot-kick after Messi, Paulo Dybala and Leandro Parades had all scored, to crown his country as the 2022 World Cup winners.
