Eddie Nketiah has been putting in extra sessions after training as he looks to fill the void in Arsenal's attack left by Gabriel Jesus' injury.
The Brazil star was ruled out for the remainder of the World Cup after suffering medial ligament damage against Cameroon in the group stages. He subsequently returned to London to undergo surgery.
While it is set to be a long road to recovery, Jesus posted a positive update on his Instagram story earlier this week, saying "the first week is gone." The caption was placed over the top of an image showing Jesus' right knee in a hefty brace.

Jesus' personal trainer Andre Cunha has also stated that the Arsenal star is one step closer to returning. Writing on his Instagram page, he said: "First week. A big journey awaits! Tough, difficult and uncomfortable, you can bet it is! Transformer? You can bet it will!
"Feeding your heart with the vision of the future, living in the present and celebrating the short term achievements is key. Goals set and goals achieved, and so it will be, week by week, always doing a little more. Let's go, we're getting closer @dejesusoficial! WE FOLLOW."
Still, the 25-year-old is expected to be out of action for at least three months, meaning Arsenal only have one recognised centre-forward available in Nketiah.
Whilst they appear to be on the lookout for new forwards, especially with reports circulating that Mykhaylo Mudryk is their priority target ahead of the January window, Nketiah is looking to prove to Arteta that he can be relied upon as the Gunners' starting number nine.
Positively, he's been putting in the hard work to improve. As per the Evening Standard, England under-21's record goalscorer has been participating in extra sessions following training to help bolster his game.
Nketiah was handed a five-year deal a matter of months ago, but has found himself behind Jesus in the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium. However, Arteta clearly believes in him, so perhaps it's now his time to show his boss that he can be the go-to star.
