Tyrone welcome Monaghan to Healy Park this afternoon for their eagerly-anticipated Division One opener in what is a repeat of last summer’s Ulster SFC final at Croke Park.
On that occasion, the Red Hands prevailed by the narrowest of margins, 0-16 to 0-15, to lift the Anglo-Celt Cup for the first time since 2017.
Feargal Logan and Brian Dooher’s side would, of course, go on to land the ultimate prize in Gaelic football by winning Sam Maguire following their victories over Kerry and Mayo.
Their 2022 season started with back-to-back losses to Cavan and Armagh in the Dr McKenna Cup and Tyrone have also lost five of their panel from last season, including Mark Bradley and Tiernan McCann.
Monaghan claimed the pre-season Dr McKenna Cup at Donegal's expense in Healy Park last weekend and Seamus McEnaney’s men will surely relish the prospect of beating the All-Ireland champions in their own back yard.
