What Brighton fans chanted at Alexis Mac Allister amid Manchester United and Man City links

Brighton fans made their feeling towards Alexis Mac Allister clear on Wednesday night amid growing speculation about his future.

The Argentine World Cup winner has been linked with both Manchester United and Manchester City as well as Liverpool - Mac Allister is understood to be Jurgen Klopp's number-one midfield target.

United are open to signing a central midfielder and have also been linked with Mason Mount. City could need a replacement for Ilkay Gundogan, who is out of contract in the summer.

Brighton fans will be hoping Mac Allister stays after they confirmed a top-six finish and Europa League football.

And those supporters made their feelings known to the World Cup winner as they repeatedly chanted "we want you to stay, Alexis Mac Allister, we want you to stay" during Wednesday's 1-1 draw with City at the Amex Stadium.

Speaking ahead of the visit of Pep Guardiola's side, Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi addressed the ongoing speculation surrounding the futures of Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo. He said: "They can have the possibility to change [clubs] because they deserve to play in another level. I don't know what [Brighton owner] Tony [Bloom] can decide.

"Now we can offer them the possibility to play in Europe because our level is bigger now, We can offer them one possibility more.

"When I work, I think for myself, I think for my club - but I think still for the players. The players have one career, one life and we can't decide for them."
