Arsenal have held preliminary talks with Bukayo Saka's representatives as the club look to tie the attacker down to a new and improved long-term deal at the Emirates.
Saka signed his most recent contract with the Gunners back in the summer of 2020. That deal is set to run until the summer of 2023 with a further option to extend for another 12 months. But with reports emerging that Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp could make a move for the 20-year-old, Arsenal have grown eager to secure his future as soon as possible.
Saka scored the winner for Mikel Arteta's side against Aston Villa on Saturday to strengthen their claim to fourth place, highlighting his importance to the club. This season has seen him score nine goals in 28 Premier League games, providing a further five assists.
