What are the hottest and coldest months the UK has ever seen? Worldwide temperature record set for January

Data has shown that January 2025 was the hottest first month of the year on record but the UK experienced temperatures a little cooler than average.

Over the course of the month, Met Office data shows that 3C was the mean temperature, which is around mid table compared to temperatures recorded since 1884.
